Sydney based Composer Jessica Ellis has a passion for writing music that breathes life into every space. Whether that be in film, in concert, or any other platform that finds her. As a personal style, she favours writing with textures and movement, pushing the boundaries of what instruments can do in creating a unique sound world.

Whilst completing her undergraduate studies in Composition for Creative Industries and a Master of Fine Arts in Music for Motion Picture and Contemporary Media, she has found success both in Australia and Internationally. In her early career, she composed the score for UK film Aubade (dir, Joe Lowen-Grey) which received the award for Best Music in the 2021/2022 short film category at the Screen Power Film Festival, and placed as a finalist for Best Score at the British Short Film Awards. Most recently, her work in the Australian film Romance Dawn (dir, Bruce Koussaba) has been showcased in short film exhibitions at the Sydney Powerhouse Museum and the New South Wales Art Gallery.

She is currently working broadly across film, tv, video game, and concert music platforms in various roles of composer, performer, orchestrator, copyist and conductor.
